A Chinese jade Hongshan owl sculpture
Strongly stylised owl with large round eyes. Flat back with oblique hole in the area of the neck. The drilling made from both sides. Polished surface. Dark green jade with whitish inclusions. Height 14 cm. Weight 807 g.
Along with Zhulong figures and the so-called C-dragons, owl figures are part of the pictorial repertoire of the Neolithic Hongshan culture.

Stark stilisierte Eule mit großen runden Augen. Flache Rückseite mit schräger Durchbohrung im Bereich des Nackens. Die Durchbohrung von beiden Seiten ausgeführt. Oberfläche poliert. Dunkelgrüne Jade mit weißlichen Einschlüssen. Höhe 14 cm. Gewicht 807 g.
Neben Zhulong-Figuren und den sogenannten C-Drachen zählen Eulenfiguren zu dem Bildrepertoire der neolithischen Hongshan-Kultur.
