Wohl Ende 18. Jahrhundert. Das Model nach Etienne Maurice Falconet (1716-1791).

Vergoldete Bronze und weißer Marmor. Quadratische Plinthe auf kleinen Füßen. Das Postament mit umlaufendem Amorettenfries.
Darauf zwei tänzelnde Nymphen in antikisierender Gewandung. Sie halten einen aus
Akanthusblättern geformten Kelch aus dem vier geschwungene Leuchterarme und in der Mitte
ein kräftiger Thyrsos-Stab, der von Efeu umwunden und mit einem Pinienzapfen bekrönt ist,
emporwachsen. Höhe 91cm. Zustand B.

Die beiden Girandolen sind in der Zeit des Louis XVI in der Formensprache des goût étrusque entworfen worden. Die sehr lebendig wirkenden Figuren der Nymphen folgen dem Modell von Etienne Maurice Falconet, das verschiedene Ausführungen erfuhr. Exemplare finden sich heute unter anderem im Königlichen Schloss Warschau und im Musée Nissim de Camondo in Paris
