GROSSES SCHIFFSMODELL DER JACHT 'STANDART' VON ZAR NIKOLAUS II. VON RUSSLAND Ende 19. Jahrhundert Holz, teils farbig gefasst, Metall. L. 210 cm, H. 72 cm. Min. restauriert Im Jahr 1893 bestellte Zar Alexander III. von Russland eine kaiserliche Jacht bei der Schiffswerft Burmeister & Wain in Kopenhagen, Dänemark. Das Schiff wurde Standart genannt und wurde sehr bald wegen seiner Größe, seines effektiven Motors und seiner Schönheit weltberühmt. Die Standart wurde zweifellos in Kopenhagen gebaut, weil Alexander III. mit der Kaiserin Maria Fjodorovna, geborene Prinzessin Dagmar von Dänemark, verheiratet war und sie den dänischen Handel und die dänische Industrie bereitwillig unterstützte. Alexander III. starb 1894, und so war es der Sohn, Zar Nikolaus II., der die kaiserliche Yacht 1896, als sie fertiggestellt war, übernahm. In der Tat war es ein Segelpalast, mit mehreren Salons, einem Speisesaal, einer Kirche und sogar einem Kuhstall. Die kaiserliche Familie verbrachte ihre Sommerferien gerne an Bord der Standart und besuchte die Familien in Dänemark, Großbritannien, Deutschland oder wenn sie zu ihrem Sommerpalast auf der Krim segelten. Nach der russischen Revolution 1917 hatte die Standart ein sagenhaftes Schicksal, das bis heute nicht vollständig aufgeklärt ist. Die offizielle russische Version lautet, dass die Standart 1961 als Ziel bei Raketenübungen in der Ostsee benutzt wurde. Nichtsdestotrotz suchen die Russen immer noch nach der Standart, denn sie könnte in der Tat während der Übungen gesunken sein. 1896 wurden zwei Schiffsmodelle der Standart gebaut - eines für die Schiffswerft Burmeister & Wain in Kopenhagen und ein weiteres für die Jacht selbst. Das Modell, das der Werft gehörte, befindet sich heute im Museum Diesel House in Kopenhagen, während das andere Schiffsmodell verschwunden ist. Dieses Schiffsmodell wurde vermutlich in den Jahren 1893-1896 von einem der Mitarbeiter der Werft Burmeister & Wain gebaut.
