"Flammenpunkt" (Originaltitel)
Rechteckige Platte auf Holz. Zentral der Wandung explosiv ausgeprägter Flammenkreis, teilw. im Relief gearbeitet, auf meergrünem Fond. Überwiegend polychrome Unterglasurmalerei. Dekor-Entw. Volkmar Bretschneider, 1990. Sign. und Dat. "V. Bretschneider (19)91". Schwertermarke. 43,5 cm x 43 cm.
Volkmar Bretschneider, ab 1949 ausgebildeter Porzellanmaler für Frucht- und Blumenmalerei der Porzellan-Manufaktur Meissen, war seit 1977 Teil des "Kollektivs Künstlerische Entwicklung" mit Prof. Heinz Werner, Peter Strang, Ludwig Zepner und Rudi Stolle. Er schuf zahlreiche Dekore für Atelierporzellane, die "Künstlerische Wandplattengestaltung" und setzte sich in diesem Zusammenhang u.a. intensiv mit dem Sujet Landschaft oder mit den Elementen Erde, Wasser, Feuer, Licht, auseinander. Studienreisen in die USA oder nach Japan nutzte er für seine Entwürfe. Ein nicht datiertes s/w Foto mit Blick auf das Atelier und Maler Gunnar Arnold zeigt eine weitere Variante des Wandbilds "Flammenpunkt" im Hintergrund.
