Unterhalb mehrsprachige Legende und Signatur; Blick in den durch eine reiche, phantasievolle Figurenstaffage belebten ersten Bibliothekssaal der neu gegründeten Universität, der 1734 im ehemaligen Pauliner-Klosters der Dominikaner eingerichtet wurde. Ca. 31 cm x 42,5 cm (Passepartoutausschnitt). Rahmen. Ein weiteres Exemplar befindet sich in der Sammlung der Princeton University. A hand-coloured copper engraved optical view of the Göttingen University Library by Georg Balthasar Probst (1732 - 1801) published in Augsburg circa 1760-1780.
