Brooklyn, New York, oder Meriden, Connecticut. Um 1900-1930. Patinierte Bronze, Glas in gelben Farbtönen. H. 33,5 cm. Auf der Unterseite undeutl. gestempelt: HANDEL. Zustand Goldfarbene Patina der Plinthe ber., Elektrifizierung überholungsbedürftig. Auf vegetabiler Plinthe zwei kannelierte Blütenstängel, davon einer mit geschlossener Lilienblüte, ein weiterer mit ergänztem Favrile-Schirm mit Liniendekor. Eine Lampenfassung. Elektrifiziert - Provenienz: Nachlass Gräfin Finck von Finckenstein-Brinkama - Philip Handel (1866-1914) begann in den späten 1890er Jahren in Connecticut mit der Fertigung von kunstvollen Glasobjekten und Lampen. Seine Glasmanufaktur Handel Company Inc. wurde nach seinem Tod unter familiärer Leitung bis 1936 weitergeführt. Tisch- und Hängelampen mit floralen Motiven von Rosen und Iris waren das Hauptgebiet der Manufaktur. Neben farbenprächtigen bleiverglasten Mosaikglaslampen produzierte Handel auch Lampen mit fein bemalten Lampenschirmen. Handel wurde nach Tiffany die bedeutendste Glasmanufaktur in Amerika.
