Triumphzug der Diana mit Bacchus
Mit lockerem Duktus delikat gemaltes Werk Makarts, der effektvolle Lichtakzente setzt. Mythologische und historische Motive waren Schwerpunkte im Oeuvre des vielseitigen, von Tizian und Rubens beeinflussten Künstlers, der sich darüber hinaus u.a. mit Festzügen, Richard Wagner und dem Theater inklusive Dekorationen befasste. Der von Carl v. Piloty in München ausgebildete Makart wurde 1869 vom Kaiser nach Wien berufen. Ein Höhepunkt der Weltausstellung 1873 war die theatralisch inszenierte Präsentation von Makarts Monumentalgemälde "Venedig huldigt Caterina Cornaro". Das Publikum war fasziniert von der Größe und der üppigen Choreographie dieser Historienbilder und mythologischen Szenen, es verlangte nach immer neuen opulenten, prunkvollen, sinnenfreudigen "Sensationsgemälden", weiblichen Akten und Bildnissen. Über Wien hinaus war Makart ein international gefeierter Malerfürst. Öl/Leinwand; Rechts unten signiert; 89 cm x 69 cm. Rahmen.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
