Achtstrahliger silberner Bruststern in brillantierter Ausführung, das Medaillon in Silber, die geperlten Medaillonringe aus 14-karätigem Gold. Dazwischen golden gefasste Rauten aus grüner Emaille auf weißem Emaillefeld, im Zentrum die erhabene Devise "Providentiae Memor" auf feinst gekörntem Grund. Rückseitig an Scharnier eine doppelte Vertikalnadel, im rückseitigen Medaillon die Herstellerbezeichnung "Scharffenberg Dresden". Breite 83,5 mm, Gewicht 58,5 g.
Nur leicht getragene, sehr schöne, frühe Ausführung des Juweliers Gustav Adolf Scharffenberg in Dresden.
Provenienz: Nach Einliefererangabe handelt es sich beim Träger um Friedrich Wilhelm II., Großherzog von Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
House Order of the Rue Crown - a breast star to the Grand Cross, circa 1850
Eight-rayed silver breast star, faceted version, the medallion in silver, the pearled medallion rings of 14-carat gold encircling a white enamel field with gold-edged rue leaves of green enamel, in the centre raised inscription "Providentiae Memor" on a finely grained background. On the reverse a hinged vertical double pin, the reverse medallion with manufacturer’s name "Scharffenberg Dresden". Width 83.5 mm, weight 58.5 g.
Only slightly worn, beautiful, early version by the jeweller Gustav Adolf Scharffenberg of Dresden.
Provenance: According to the consignor this breast star was worn by Friedrich Wilhelm II, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Strelitz.
