Hohe, schwarz lackierte Lederglocke, Buntmetallbeschläge (berieben) mit Nackenschiene. Verschraubter Linienadler mit aufgelegtem silbernen Reservekreuz. Kreuzblatt mit vier Rundkopfschrauben und glatter, drehbarer, aber nicht abnehmbarer Spitze. Konvexe Schuppenketten mit Lederfutter an verschraubten geometrischen Rosetten, seitlich eine große Landeskokarde (7,5 cm) aus Eisenblech mit geriffeltem Ring. Sehr gut erhaltenes schwarzes Lederlaschenfutter, Schirme rot-grün ausgekleidet. Partiell leicht beschädigt, Altersspuren.
Seltenes erstes Modell der deutschen Pickelhaube in schöner Erhaltung.

A helmet M 1842 for non-commissioned officers of the infantry
High, black lacquered leather skull, non-ferrous metal fittings (abraded) with a bar at the nape. The screw-mounted outline of an eagle with appliquéd silver reserve cross. Cruciform base with four round-head screws and smooth, rotating but not removable spike. Convex chinscales with leather underlay on screw-mounted, geometric rosettes, a large state cockade in sheet iron (7.5 cm) on the side with a grooved ring. The black leather liner in fine condition, the visors with red and green underlay. Slightly damaged in places, signs of age.
Rare first model of the German spiked helmet in beautiful condition.
