Eigentumsstück. Schwarz lackierter Lederkorpus mit feuervergoldeten Buntmetallbeschlägen. Versplintetes sächsisches Emblem mit vergoldetem Stern und versilberter Wappenauflage aus versilbertem Neusilber. Flache lederunterfütterte Schuppenketten an Steckrosetten und beiden Metallkokarden in typisch sächsischer Form. Teller mit vier Sternschrauben und hoher, glatter, abschraubbarer Spitze. Graugrünes Seidenripsfutter (kleine Risse) und braunes Lederschweißband, rot/grün unterfütterte Schirme, die Nackenschirmschiene markiert "W.G" und "55" (Größe), in der Glocke handschriftlich die alte Größenangabe "55" sowie das Datum "1/10 08". Hinten rechts am Korpus eine längliche Lackfehlstelle, Haarrisse um den Teller, Hitzespuren an den Schirmen. Beiliegend die Schulterstücke aus grün durchzogenem Geflecht mit Metallziffern und Kronenknöpfen sowie rotem Tuchfutter. Eleganter, getragener Helm aus der Familie in altersgemäß guter Erhaltung.

Privately purchased piece. Black lacquered leather shell with fire-gilt mounts of non-ferrous metal. Held by cotter pins a Saxon helmet plate with gilt star and silver-plated coat of arms of silvered nickel silver. Flat leather-lined chinscales on push-through rosettes, both metal cockades of typical Saxon form. Base with four star-head retainers and tall, smooth, detachable spike. Greyish-green silk rep lining (small tears) and brown leather sweatband, red/green underlay to the visors, the rear spine marked "W.G" and "55" (size), handwritten on the inside of the shell the old size number "55" and date "1/10 08". Oblong loss to the lacquer on the right side at back, hairline cracks around the base, visors with traces of heat exposure. Shoulder boards of silver bullion with green stripes, metal numbers, crown buttons and red cloth lining. Elegant, used helmet from the family, given its age in good condition.
