Neben der hier angebotenen, bisher unbekannten Variante aus der Sammlung Otto Peins erwähnt das RKD in Den Haag drei weitere Fassungen des 'Singenden Lautenspielers im verlorenen Profil'. Eine signierte und 1624 datierte Fassung befindet sich im 'Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux', eine weitere dem Künstler zugeordnete Variante beherbergt das 'Musée National des Beaux-Arts (Algiers)'. Eine farblich differierende, dem Künstler nicht zugeordnete Variante, besitzt heute das 'Figge Art Museum, Davenport'. Zur Sammlung von Otto Pein vgl.: Katalog der Gemälde-Galerie des Herrn Otto Pein, Rittergutsbesitzer auf Haus Müncheberg bei Berlin: Gemälde Niederländischer und Deutscher Meister des XVI. Bis XVIII.
