Heimkehrende Fischerboote vor Scheveningen
Blick auf zwei mit der Flut zurückkehrende Bomschuiten in der Brandung, im Hintergrund weitere Fischerboote bzw. Küstensegler. Mit weich-pastosem Farbauftrag und in tonigem Kolorit gemaltes, impressiv aufgefasstes, großformatiges Hauptwerk Mesdags, der zu den bedeutendsten Marinemalern der Haager Schule gehört. 1869 wurde Mesdag in Den Haag ansässig, wo er rasch eine führende Rolle in der Kunstszene und der Künstler-Gesellschaft Pulchri Studio einnahm. Während längerer Aufenthalte in Scheveningen malte er direkt am Meer. Schon 1870 erhielt Mesdag eine Goldmedaille im Pariser Salon, 1873-1896 wurde er ebenfalls bei den internationalen Ausstellungen in London, Philadelphia, Amsterdam, Berlin und Florenz ausgezeichnet. Mesdags größtes und bedeutendstes Werk ist das 1881 vollendete, monumentale, bis heute in Den Haag zu besichtigende Panorama mit einer 14 x 120 m großen Ansicht von Scheveningen. Mit Werken ist der Künstler, außer in der Sammlung Mesdag in Den Haag, in vielen bedeutenden Museen vertreten, u. a. im Rijksmuseum, dem Instituut Collectie Nederland und dem Van Gogh-Museum in Amsterdam, Groninger Museum, Museum Bojmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam, Musée National du Château de Fontainebleau etc.; Öl/Leinwand, doubliert; Rechts unten signiert und datiert 1887. 110,5 cm x 170,5 cm. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
