First edition. The work originated as a series of 34 articles, each consisting of a plate and its accompanying description, printed in Ackerman's Repository between 1819 and 1821. Papworth chose 28 of these plates to be included here and added a revised text with a new introductory essay. In the present copy the plates are not numbered with roman numerals, and no watermarks are visible on the wove paper. “A necessary companion volume to the author’s Rural Residences and of greater rarity” (Abbey). Quarto (272 x 185mm). Half-title, frontispiece, woodcut figures in text, and 28 aquatint plates, all hand-colored but for two finished in sepia and with an overslip (occasional light spotting). Publisher’s embossed gray-green cloth (covers soiled, spine and extremities sunned).

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
