Diamonds: 1 diamonds in old-cut Ø ca. 2,2 mm.
Gemstones: 5 round facted gemstones Ø ca. 2,2 mm, gr.
Organic Matter: ca. 29 seed pearls Ø ca. 2,2 mm.
Description: 2 delicately worked mourning brooches, in the centre each a lining of braided brown hair under quartz. One brooch on the front with black-enamelled frame around the hair lining, on it golden engraving, framed by seed pearl. Verso engraved "James Lees [...], obiit 12 June 1828 in his 70 year. ML". The other brooch on the front with detailed decor of delicate gold wires around the hair lining, set with gemstones and a diamond, verso the initials "JL" engraved.
The revenue will go to a non-profit foundation.
Condition: according to age in very good condiiton, traces of usage and wear in hte form
of minor to medium scratches. One gemstone minimally bumped, occasional small brownish
spots under the glass of the brooch with gemstone setting. Gold slightly oxidised verso.
