Breit angelegte Komposition um die Hl. Anna als Zentrum: Anna auf Bank thronend, das Jesuskind mit Apfel auf dem rechten Knie haltend, während die kindliche Maria das geöffnete Buch präsentiert. Dahinter die Halbfiguren der Hll. Ehemänner Joseph und Joachim. Der Mantel Annas ausladend in umknickenden Röhrenfalten drapiert. Lindenholzrelief mit Spuren polychromer Fassung. Restaurierung., Spuren alten Anobienbefalls. H. 61 cm. Die sog. Hl. Sippe bezeichnet die legendenhaft überlieferte Verwandtschaft der Anna als Mutter Mariens und war im Zuge der Annenverehrung seit dem 14. Jahrhundert beliebtes Darstellungsthema an großen Altären. Bis zu 17 Personen konnte das Personal einer Hl. Sippe umfassen. Mit einem Wandel der Nachfrage Anfang des 16. Jahrhunderts hin zu kleineren Privataltären wurde auch die Darstellung der Hl. Sippe personell reduziert. Im Schaffen des Ulmer Bildhauers Daniel Mauch, einem der bedeutendsten deutschen Bildhauer am Übergang von Spätgotik zur Renaissance, findet sich das Thema mehrfach in verschiedenen Abwandlungen, mit dem Bieselbacher Altar als Hauptwerk. Der Einfluss Mauchs zeigt sich an vorliegendem Relief in der rundlich-kompakten Figurenauffassung wie auch motivisch in strähnig geschnittenen Haar- und Barttrachten oder der Betonung eines modischen Erscheinungsbildes mit der haubenartigen Kopfbedeckung der Hl. Anna (vergleiche etwa ein Hochrelief mit der Darstellung der Familie der Maria Cleophas im Vorarlberger Landesmuseum, Bregenz).
