Verkleinerte Kopie nach dem Kopf einer Kolossalstatue des Königs Amenophis III. aus Rosengranit. Gefunden im Dorf Qurna bei Luxor, aus seinem Totentempel in Kom el-Hettan, heute ausgestellt im Luxor-Museum.
Die Statue wurde in 1950er Jahre vom ägyptischen Bildhauer Mohamed Nasr geschaffen, der seinerzeit in Handarbeit prominente altägyptische Skupturen aus Luxor und Umgebung kopierte und dabei Stein aus den gleichen ägyptischen Vorkommen verwendete wie die pharaonzeitlichen Vorbilder.
Kopf des Königs mit Bart und der weißen Hedjet-Krone Oberägyptens mit Uräusschlange, gefertigt aus Rosengranit von Assuan. Repräsentative und hochwertige Kopie einer altägyptischen Skulptur. Handarbeit eines ägyptischen Meisterbildhauers, wie sie im Original nicht erhältlich wäre. Die Kopie darf im Hinblick auf ihr Alter auch bereits als Antiquität eingeschätzt werden. Höhe 58 cm. A smaller copy of the head of a colossal statue of King Amenophis III, made of rose granite. Found in the village of Qurna near Luxor, from his mortuary temple in Kom el-Hettan, now on display in the Luxor Museum.
The statue was created in the 1950s by Egyptian sculptor Mohamed Nasr, who at the time handcrafted copies of prominent ancient Egyptian sculptures from Luxor and the surrounding area, using stone from the same Egyptian quarries as the pharaonic originals.
Head of the king with beard and the white Hedjet crown of Upper Egypt with uraeus snake, made of rose granite from Aswan. Representative and high-quality copy of an ancient Egyptian sculpture, handcrafted by an Egyptian master sculptor. In view of its age, the copy can already be considered an antique.
