An Anatolian Kiliya idol, 3rd millennium B.C.
Marble Kiliya idol in striking design. The head sitting on a long, narrow neck with anatomical details such as ears and nose. Cleaned on the front, with traces of sintering on the rearside. Broken below. Without additions. Height 9.1 cm. Mounted on stand, total height 12.7 cm.

Provenance: From the collection of a South German classical philologist, formed by him during the 1950s and 1960s. Remaining thereafter in the family estate.

Kilija-Idol mit markant stilisiertem Körper. Der auf langem, schmalem Hals sitzende Kopf mit anatomischen Details wie Ohren und Nase. Die Vorderseite gereinigt, hinten mit Sinterspuren. Unten gebrochen. Ohne Ergänzungen. Höhe 9,1 cm. Auf Ständer montiert, Gesamthöhe 12,7 cm.

Provenienz: Aus der Sammlung eines süddeutschen Altphilologen, von diesem erworben in den 1950er und 1960er Jahren. Dann weiter in Familienbesitz.
