Feine Schnitzerei aus Lindenholz. Bewegte, ehemals wohl farbig gefasste Halbfigur der Maria Magdalena. Die Dargestellte in ein Gewand mit reichem Faltenwurf gehüllt, unter dem einige ihrer gelockten Haare hervorquellen, die linke Hand anmutig erhoben. Stellenweise ausgebessert, einige Risse, rückseitig Wurmlöcher und stärkere Bestoßungen. Höhe 60 cm. Auf altem, grün/rot gefaßtem Sockel aus Weichholz.

An Italian carved wooden figure of Mary Magdalene, 1st half of the 18th century
Finely carved in lime wood. Expressive half-length portrait of Mary Magdalene, probably originally painted in colour. The subject garbed in a flowing robe with extravagant folds, from which some of her curls have escaped, her left hand held gracefully aloft. Restored here and there, several cracks, the back with worm damage and major knocks. Height 60 cm. On an old, softwood pedestal, painted green and red.
