Rare compilation of printed edicts, ordinances, and other documents related to the Hôtel royal des Invalides, fine copy in contemporary red morocco. The Hôtel royal des Invalides, now known as the Hôtel national des Invalides, is an extensive complex of 17th-century structures and courtyards in Paris designed for the care and housing of disabled veterans and as a place of worship. Louis XIV initiated the project by an order dated 24 November 1670, as a home and hospital for aged and unwell soldiers. No auction records or institutional library copies for this work traced.

Contemporary French red morocco gilt, red morocco titling piece, all edges gilt, silk ribbon bookmark, with arms of the de Monteynard family on covers (small library label in ink on upper spine, light rubbing). Provenance: Louis François de Monteynard (1713-1791, French soldier and statesman; binding) – Marchionis de Monteynard (bookplate).
