Fully plastic, scaled-down figure after the famous, by Claude Poussin (1650/51), in collaboration with Gian Lorenzo Bernini created a sculpture of the four rivers fountain in Rome. The personifications of the four rivers in the form of male figures stand for the four then-known continents (the Ganges for Asia), and thus the claim of the Pope (innocent X.) on the entire world. H. 21 cm.
