Als Bouquet arrangiertes, üppiges Früchtestillleben mit Weintrauben und -reben, Mandarinen an blühenden Zweigen und Pfirsichen, belebt durch feinmalerisch, naturnah und detailreich wiedergegebene Insekten, darunter eine große Heuschrecke (Grünes Heupferd). Geschwungene Bänder in den beiden oberen Bildecken assoziieren einen geöffneten Beutel, der den Blick auf die frischen Früchte freigibt. Minutiös feingemaltes, äußerst naturalistisches Tableau Marrels, der 1624-1632 bei Georg Flegel in Frankfurt lernte und 1632 in die Werkstatt Jan Davidsz. de Heem nach Utrecht ging. Nachdem er bereits in Utrecht eine eigene Werkstatt betrieben und Abraham Mignon als Schüler aufgenommen hatte, war er 1650-1665 in Frankfurt ansässig. Dort heiratete er 1651 Johanna Sybilla Merian (Witwe von Matthäus Merian d. Ä.), wodurch er der Stiefvater und späterer Lehrer von Maria Sibylla Merian wurde. In seinem Oeuvre beeinflussten ihn außer Jan Davidsz. de Heem auch Roelant Savery und Ambrosius (II) Bosschaert. Laut Fred G. Meijer, bis 2017 Chefkurator am RKD in Den Haag, stammt das vorliegende Gemälde aus der letzten Schaffensperiode Marrels nach 1675. Öl/Lwd., doubliert. Verso altes Papieretikett eines Baseler Restaurators. Altrest.; 46,5 cm x 58 cm. Rahmen.
Oil on canvas, relined. According to Fred G. Meijer, former senior curator at the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Docmentatie (RKD) in The Hague, this painting can be recognized as one of the last works by Jacob Marrel (after circa 1675).

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
