Rider battle
Fine-translucent-painted, scenic view of a raging battle, with horsemen and foot soldiers. Weyer was specialized in the rider battles, and influenced by Philips Wouverman, whose works he had during his apprenticeship with Evert Decker in Haarlem met. 1645 Weyer joined in the Guild of Saint Luke, before he returned in 1648, back to Hamburg. Paintings Weyers are in the collections of major international museums such as the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the National Gallery in London and the Hamburger Kunsthalle. Oil/Oak Panel.
