Leicht gekrümmte zweischneidie Klinge aus Woozdamast (teils narbig) mit beidseitigem kräftigen Mittelgrat. Wohl spätere, europäische Parierstange aus Stahl. Fein geschnitzter Elfenbeingriff mit Zwinge und Griffbändern aus Silber. Der Knauf in Form eines doppelten Tierkopfes mit Hund und Löwe geschnitzt. Ein Auge mit erhaltenem eingesetzten Schmuckstein. Silberner Vernietknauf. Mit rotem Samt bezogene Holzscheide mit Messinggarnitur. Länge 46,5 cm.

An Indian jambiya with carved ivory handle, 1st half of the 19th century
The slightly curved, double-edged blade of wootz-Damascus (pitted in places) with a pronounced medial ridge on each side. The European steel quillons probably of later date. The delicately carved ivory handle with silver ferrule and grip frames. The pommel carved in the shape of a double-headed beast, with a dog and a lion. The inset gemstone still preserved in one eye. Riveted silver button. The wooden scabbard covered in red velvet with brass mounts.
Length 46.5 cm.
