In the traulichen, fine-translucent-painted family portrait of Sant portrays his young wife and his in 1852-born daughter in a deep interiority. In 1840 he made his debut at the Royal Academy in London, where he exhibited until 1915, almost 300 paintings. He specialized in portrait painting, particularly women and children of the aristocracy and of wealth were middle class. After he had asked Queen Victoria 1870/72 with Portraits of your family, he was appointed the official portrait painter of the court. Öl/Lwd.; 77 cm x 64.5 cm. Frame.
Probably the first Version of the painting was auctioned in 2006, at Christie's in London for £90 000, an auction record for the artist; other versions mentioned Sant in letters.
