Ländliches Fest vor einem Wirtshaus
In Motiv, Stil und Kolorit für Miels "Bambocciade"-Gemälde typisches Werk mit einer lebensnah geschilderten, vielfigurigen Volksfestszene vor einer Architekturstaffage. Erzählerisch schildert Miel ausgelassene Tänzer, zechende und musizierende Figuren. Miel, der seine künstlerische Ausbildung wohl in Antwerpen erhielt, war 1633/36-1658 in Rom ansässig, wo er Mitglied der "Bentvueghels" war. Zugleich gehörte er zum Kreis der sog. von Pieter van Laer beeinflussten Genremaler der sog. "Bamboccianti", die mit Vorliebe Szenen schilderten, welche die einfache Bevölkerung in Rom und in der ländlichen Umgebung schilderten. Miel wurde zu einer bedeutenden Kraft im Zuge der Entwicklung dieser neuen Tradition in Rom und erwarb sich auch allgemein großes Ansehen. 1648 nahm man Miel als ersten nordischen Künstler in die angesehene Vereinigung Accademia di San Luca auf, 1650 in die Congregazione dei Virtuosi al Pantheon. 1658 berief ihn Karl Emanuel II. Herzog von Savoyen an den Hof nach Turin. Werke Miels befinden sich u. a. in der Eremitage, im Louvre und im Prado. Öl/Lwd., doubl.; 57 cm x 85 cm. Rahmen.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
