Jan van Kessel (Amsterdam) ging wahrscheinlich bei Jacob van Ruisdael in die Lehre und war mit Werken von Meindert Hobbema gut vertraut. Er malte verschiedene Landschaftstypen (darunter viele Waldlandschaften) und Straßenbilder.
Provenienz: Laut Einliefererangaben stammt das Bild aus der Sammlung von Gräfin Montgelas.
Oil on canvas. Atmospheric landscape view, depicting a hunting party by a river. A couple of huntsmen with dogs ride out of the forest and chase a deer crossing the river. Old trees with massive crowns tower above the river scene. Craquelures. In a profile frame of gilt wood. Dimensions of painting 75 x 100 cm, dimensions of frame 91 x 116 cm.
Jan van Kessel (Amsterdam) was probably a pupil of Jacob van Ruisdael and was well acquainted with the paintings of Meindert Hobbema. He painted various types of landscapes (among them many forest landscapes) and street sceneries.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments.
