Lowe, London 1975;Private ownership, Germany.Regarding this large-size panel, Alice Davis writes that it was always considered as work by Jacob van Ruisdael (1628/29 - 1682) in the earlier literary canon as well as of the former provenance. For the first time, it was mentioned this way with a hint at the monogram by Hofstede de Groot. Jakob Rosenberg und Seymour Slive recognized for the first time, on behalf of the former owner Des Moines Art Center in Iowa, Jan van Kessel's handwriting. In contrast to van Ruisdael's well-known works, these large-scale formats are not unusual for van Kessel. Davis dates this work to the 1670s.
