A figurally decorated blue-ground famille rose cup with Yongzheng mark
Thin-walled cup with blue underglaze Yongzheng mark on the underside. The outer wall has a light blue background, on it a splendidly robed lady carrying a flower vase in finest figural painting between clouds and bats. The woman is the Taoist deity Magu, who possesses the elixir of life and was also worshipped as the protector of women. Masterly painting with excellent composition of colours. Intact. Height 6.5 cm.

Provenance: From a South German collection of an aristocratic family.

Dünnwandige Tasse mit blauer Unterglasur-Yongzheng-Marke auf der Unterseite. Die Außenwand besitzt einen hellblauen Untergrund, darauf in feinster figürlicher Malerei zwischen Wolken und Fledermäusen eine prachtvoll gewandete Dame, die eine Blumenvase trägt. Es handelt sich hierbei um die taoistische Gottheit Magu, die das Lebenselixier besitzt und als Beschützerin der Frauen verehrt wurde. Meisterhafte Malerei mit exzellenter Komposition der Farben. Intakt. Höhe 6,5 cm.
