Porträt eines adeligen Herren
Bildnis als Halbfigur, den Kopf im Viertelprofil vor hellolivgrünem Hintergrund. Das fein gemalte Charakterbildnis zeigt einen Herren mittleren Alters, dessen wacher Blick am Betrachter vorbei gerichtet ist. Kleidung und Pose entsprechen seinem Stand und seiner sebstbewussten Persönlichkeit - ein dunkelblauer Gehrock mit goldenen Knöpfen und eine weiße Seidenweste, unter die er gelassen seine linke Hand geschoben hat. Johann Friedrich August Tischbein, der sog. "Leipziger Tischbein" gehörte zur weitverzweigten Malerdynastie. Er lernte u. a. bei seinem Onkel Johann Heinrich Tischbein d. Ä. in Kassel und seit 1772 bei Johann Georg Wille in Paris. 1777 reiste Tischbein nach Rom und Neapel, wo er sich mit Jacques Louis David und Anton Raphael Mengs anfreundete. 1780 kehrte Tischbein nach Deutschland zurück, wurde Hofmaler des Fürsten Friedrich von Waldeck-Pyrmont in Arolsen, 1795 Hofmaler des Fürsten Leopold III. von Anhalt-Dessau. Nach weiteren Tätigkeiten seit 1796 in Berlin (u.a. als Porträtist der späteren Königin Luise und ihrer Schwester Friederike) ging er mit großem Erfolg 1799 nach Dresden, im Folgejahr nach Leipzig. 1806-1808 malte er in St. Petersburg die Zarenfamilie und den russischen Hochadel. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
