Meissen. Entwurf 1745, Ausführung um 1860. Porzellan, farbig staffiert. H. 26-28 cm. Schwertermarken. Minimal restauriert und bestossen. Fünf weibliche Figuren als Allegorien der Sinne, mit entsprechenden Attributen: Das Sehen, mit Fernrohr, Adler und Putto mit Laterne - der Geschmack, mit Früchtekorb und Äffchen - der Geruch, mit Duftgefäß, Hündchen und Putto - das Gehör, mit Laute, Hirsch und singendem Putto - das Gefühl, mit Papagei, Hündchen und sich balgenden Putten - Bildhauer und Modelleur, lernte in England das Gießen von Blei, Messing und Stahl kennen, arbeitete nach seiner Rückkehr nach Dresden 4 Jahre beim Hofbildhauer Vinache und trat 1735 als Gehilfe J. J. Kaendlers in die Meissener Porzellanmanufaktur ein, avancierte zu dessen erstem Mitarbeiter und war an der Fertigung zahlreicher Meisterwerke wesentlich beteiligt.
