Spindler, Johann Friedrich und Heinrich Wilhelm. Potsdam.

Date: Ca. 1765.
Technique: Softwood corpus. Walnut, walnut root wood, maple, birch burr, mother of pearl amongst others. Fruit woods veneered. Original fire-gilt bronze fittings.
Description: Slightly curved chest of drawers with two drawers sans traverse on high, slightly flared
legs. The frame is extended in an apron shape and curved to fit. A curved cartouche
running across both drawers in the centre, containing a large floral arrangement with
tulips, bluebells and others. On the chest of drawers with a tray-like extended edge, a
writing attachment with two drawers one above the other on each side and a central writing
flap. Two cartouches with shepherd's idylls in flap symmetry. The tabernacle top with a
wide, continuous drawer and three smaller drawers on each side above it. The slightly
arched tabernacle door with Neptune and naiads is in the centre. The pediment-shaped
rising headboard in the centre bears the coat of arms of the von Brandenstein family with
a wolf carrying a goose in its mouth.
