Aufziehendes Wetter. Auf dem See (Starnberger See) ein Dampfschiff. R. u. signiert und (18)80 datiert. Rücks. Reste eines Stempels "Eigentum Fürstin [...]". Öl auf Holz. 50 x 121,5 cm. Aufgedoppelt. Parkettiert. Rest. Rahmen min. besch. (61,5 x 133,5 cm). Friedrich Voltz gilt als bedeutendster deutscher Tiermaler seiner Zeit. 1834-35 studierte er an der Münchner Akademie, bildete sich jedoch vor allem als Autodidakt weiter. Anfangs beeinflusste ihn das Schaffen Albrecht Adams sehr deutlich. Die Künstlerfreunde Carl Spitzweg und Eduard Schleich machten ihn Ende der 1830er Jahre mit der Pleinairmalerei bekannt. Seit den 1850er Jahren entstanden in Voltz' Atelier Hirtenidyllen und Tierfabeln sowie idyllische Landschaften mit Tierstaffage meist aus der Umgebung des Starnberger Sees. Seine reifen Werke stehen unverkennbar unter dem Eindruck des französischen Realismus und der zeitgenössischen Kunst in den Niederlanden. Friedrich Voltz war Mitglied der Akademien in München, Berlin und Wien. Auf der akademischen Kunstausstellung in Berlin wurde 1884 ein thematisch vergleichbares Werk des Künstlers präsentiert. Es ist nicht auszuschließen, dass es sich dabei um das vorliegende Gemälde gehandelt haben könnte, das sich durch seine künstlerische Qualität und meisterhaft wiedergegebene atmosphärische Stimmung von anderen Werken dieser Zeit deutlich abhebt, und nicht zuletzt auch aufgrund seines erzählerischen Charakters ausstellenswert gewesen wäre. After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
