Kupetzky schildert den kaiserlichen Musiker in roter Jacke und rot-blauer Mütze effektvoll vor dunklem, neutralem Hintergrund. Das Gemälde mit seiner spannungsreichen Diagonalkomposition und lebendig charakterisierenden Modellierung der Figur ist das wahrscheinlich "klassischste" Bildnis eines Blockflötenspielers, denn Zetz hat ihn hier sowohl selbstbewusst als auch mit Ernst und Spielfreude bei einem Auftritt geschildert. Johann Kupetzky (auch Kupecky, Kupezky oder tschechisch Jan Kupecký) schuf um 1720 wahrscheinlich acht Repliken des Porträts, eine davon befindet sich im Szépmuvészeti Múzeum in Budapest. Der produktive, bedeutende Barock-Porträtist genoss eine künstlerische Ausbildung an der Akademie in Wien, bevor er 1686 nach Rom ging, wo er 22 Jahre ein eigenes Atelier besaß. 1709 berief ihn Fürst Adam von Liechtenstein nach Wien zurück. Dort reüssierte er rasch als Bildnismaler der höfischen Kreise um Kaiser Joseph I. und seinen Nachfolger Karl VI. sowie des europäischen Adels. Aufgrund von Anfeindungen wegen seines nichtkatholischen Glaubens ging er 1723 nach Nürnberg, wo er weiter ein gefragter Bildnismaler des Hochadels blieb. Öl/Lwd., doubl.; 83 cm x 64 cm. Rahmen.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
