Terrakotta, mit Resten alter polychromer Fassung. Kunsthistorisch bedeutendes, überaus fein und detailreich ausgeführtes, zweiteiliges Relief mit szenischer Darstellung der Beweinung Christi. Sitzende Maria mit dem toten Christus im Schoß, die in ihrem Schmerz von einem großen, stehenden Engel gestützt wird, flankierend zwei kleine Engel. Als kleine, gesonderte Gruppe im Himmel, zwei in den Wolken schwebende Engel, die von dem Gesehenen ergriffen sind bzw. hierauf hindeuten. Das vorliegende Relief dürfte um 1740-1750 entstanden sein. Vergleichsstücke von Johann Peter Schwanthaler mit der gleichen Komposition befinden sich Museum des Augustiner-Chorherrenstifts St. Florian bei Linz (Terrakotta-Version), im Oberösterreichischen Landesmuseum in Linz (Holz-Skulptur) und in der bedeutenden Schwanthaler-Skulpturensammlung im Museum Innvierteler Volkskundehaus in Ried im Innkreis (Steinguss-Version). Die Darstellung geht wahrscheinlich ursprünglich auf eine 1730 geschaffene Skulpturengruppe seines Vaters Johann Franz Schwanthaler (1683 - 1762) für die Schmerzenskapelle Maria Plain sowie die um 1735 geschaffenen Reliefs von Georg Raphael Donner (1693 - 1741) in der Sammlung des Belvedere in Wien (Inv.-Nr. 4590 u. Lg 5) zurück. Minim. besch.; Ca. 30 cm x 27 cm x 4 cm (Figurengruppe mit Maria). Montiert auf dunklem Samt und in einem Holzrahmen.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
