Aus einem hellen Marmorblock gefertigt, der bewusst grob gearbeitete Sockel mit seitlicher Signatur "Thorak 1941". Nicht störende, kleine Fehlstellen und Materialunterschiede, am Sockel rs. links unten bestoßen, aufgemalte Inventarnummer. Höhe ca. 58 cm, Gewicht ca. 100 kg.
Josef Thorak war neben Arno Breker der wichtigste Bildhauer im Dritten Reich. Noch vor Beginn des Krieges ließ Hitler ihm ein riesiges Atelier - das größte in Europa - nach Plänen von Albert Speer in Baldham bei München bauen, in dem Thorak bis zu 17 Meter hohe Plastiken in einem Stück schaffen konnte. Zu seinen Werken zählen neben den Monumentalskulpturen auch zahlreiche Büsten, so von Friedrich dem Großen, Otto von Bismarck, Friedrich Nietzsche, Paul von Hindenburg, Rudolf Heß, Benito Mussolini, Fritz Todt und Adolf Hitler.

Carved from a light-coloured marble block, the base left rough by design with the signature "Thorak 1941" on the side. Inconspicuous, minor imperfections and differences in material, the pedestal knocked on the rear left. Painted inventory number. Height approx. 58 cm, weight approximately 100 kg.
After Arno Breker, Josef Thorak was the most important sculptor in the Third Reich. Before war broke out, Hitler had a huge studio – the largest in Europe – built for him in Baldham near Munich according to plans drawn by Albert Speer, in which Thorak could create sculptures up to 17 metres high in one piece. His works include monumental sculptures and numerous busts, such as Frederick the Great, Otto von Bismarck, Friedrich Nietzsche, Paul von Hindenburg, Rudolf Hess, Benito Mussolini, Fritz Todt and Adolf Hitler.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
