Bronze, gilt and black patinated. Granite pedestal and column base made of black marble and metal. Plinth inscribed "Clodion". Height of the candelabrum with pedestal 112 cm. Height of the column base 60 cm.

Vorliegender Kandelaber geht zurück auf einen François Rémond zugeschriebenen Entwurf der Zeit um 1785 im Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, abgeb. bei Ottomeyer, Hans/Pröschel, Peter, Vergoldete Bronzen. Die Bronzearbeiten des Spätbarock und Klassizismus Bd. I. München 1986, S. 283 Abb. 4.14.4. Die figürliche Bronze folgt dabei (zusammen mit dem Gegenstück in Gestalt eines Fauns) Arbeiten Clodions. Ausführungen des späten 18. und fühen 19. Jhs. finden sich im Louvre, in Fontainebleau oder im Buckingham Palace. Im späteren 19. Jh. wurde das populäre Modell u.a. von der Fa. Beurdeley hergestellt.

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
