1937. Öl/Lw. 95,5 x 130 cm. L. u. sign. Eulenstein, auf dem Keilrahmen möglicherweise von anderer Hand dat. 1937 sowie betitelt. - Provenienz: 1943 aus dem Besitz des Künstlers verkauft; Auktion Saarbrücken 1991; dort erworben von Rudi Didwiszus und von ihm im Ostpreußenblatt, 19.10.1991, S. 9 publiziert; zuletzt Privatsammlung Niedersachsen. - Deutscher Landschafts- und Figurenmaler. Nach dem Kriegsdienst studierte E. 1918-23 an der Akademie Königsberg bei Arthur Degner und Richard Pfeiffer. Er arbeitete seit 1926 freischaffend. Seiner ostpreußischen Heimat blieb er bis 1945 durch jährliche Besuche eng verbunden und traf dort u.a. mit Max Pechstein und Ernst Mollenhauer zusammen. 1967 mußte er die Malerei aufgrund eines Augenleidens aufgeben. E. gehört zu den wichtigen und eigenständigen Vertretern der zwischen den Kriegen tätigen 'Verschollenen Generation'. Mehr als 600 seiner Werke gingen unter der Bombardierung verloren, Werke der Vorkriegszeit sind von äußerster Seltenheit. The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
