Zwei Männer auf einer Treppe
Um 1945-1947 entstandenes Blatt Hofers, der in jenen Jahren mehrfach Figuren auf Treppen schilderte. Dargestellt ist ein älterer Mann, der in enger Beziehung dicht neben einem jüngeren Mann steht, verbunden durch übereinander gelegte Hände. Außer dem Lebensalter- und Freundschaftsmotiv ist es auch als Vater-Sohn-Beziehung interpretierbar, zugleich als Hommage an das berühmte Gemälde "Bauhaustreppe" von Oskar Schlemmer aus dem Jahr 1932; Schlemmer war 1933 zusammen mit Hofer als Lehrer an den Vereinigten Staatsschulen für freie und angewandte Kunst in Berlin entlassen worden. Im "Dritten Reich" wurden Hofers Werke als "entartet" verfemt, er selbst wurde 1938 aus der Preußischen Akademie der Künste ausgeschlossen. Nach der Befreiung mit dem Kriegsende übernahm Hofer 1945 das Direktorat an der Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin. Die Bedeutung Hofers liegt in seinem persönlichen, sensiblen, allgemeingültigen Menschenbild fern von jeglichem Pathos. Feder u. lavierte Tusche/Papier. R. u. Ligaturmonogr. "CH". 50 cm x 35 cm. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
