The expressionist artist created 1914/15 a total of 3 wood-cuts with cat illustrations, in which he brought the essence of the animals. 1905 Schmidt-Rottluff founding member of the artist group "Brücke", in 1912, he took part in the 2. Exhibition of the "Blaue Reiter" in Munich and the famous Sonderbund exhibition in Cologne part. In the "third Reich" were defamed his works as "degenerate" and in 1937 from German museums, in 1941, he received Malverbot. Rest. Tear at the lower edge of the sheet.
