'Kinnari' sculpture in Bangkok style. THAILAND, 19th c., The Kinnari is a mythological creature that is half woman and half bird. She has the head, torso and arms of a woman, but the wings, tail and feet of a swan. She is known for her dance, songs and poetry and represents the traditional symbol of female beauty, grace and perfection. Made of wood and metal, with remains of a colored setting, partly decorated with gold lacquer and glass stones. On round wooden base, h: 80 cm.
