Anton Benedikt Ernst ist in München als Kanonen- und Glockengießer von 1717 bis 1749 nachweisbar. 1732 wurde er kurfürstlicher Zeugleutnant, 1743/44 war er kaiserlicher und 1745/46 kurfürstlicher Stückhauptmann, 1747-50 kurfürstlicher Stückleutnant.
Heute sind noch ca. 135 Glocken mit seiner Signatur erhalten. Als eines seiner Hauptwerke gilt die 5.200 kg schwere Korbiniansglocke des Freisinger Domgeläuts.
A small church bell by Anton Benedikt Ernst, Munich, dated 1738
Bronze with fine age patina. Body applied with two plaques depicting Christ as the Man of Sorrows and the Mater Dolorosa. A vine frieze around the upper edge, surmounted by a banded inscription with the signature "AD HONOREM DEI FUSA AB A = B= ERNST MONACHY 1738 +". Small chipping at the lower edge, larger pressure mark on the side. Good sound, with original wrought iron clapper. Height and diameter ca. 35 cm, weight 25 kg.
Anton Benedikt Ernst is documented as a cannon and bell founder in Munich from 1717 to 1749. In 1732 he became the elector's Zeugleutnant, in 1743/44 he was an imperial and in 1745/46 an electoral Stückhauptmann, in 1747-50 he served as an electoral Stückleutnant.
To date, approximately 135 bells with his signature are still existent. One of his main works is the Korbiniansglocke, one of the Freising cathedral bells, which weighs 5,200 kg.

After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
