In order to 1550. Alberghetti Workshop.

Bronze. On round profiled foot, bell-shaped body with flared rim.
On each side a Dolphin handle. On the wall between Zierfriesen circumferentially a garland with fruits, including between flowers perennials bear, a lion and a deer. Height 12cm, ø 14cm. Condition A/B.
A similar mortar with hunting scenes from the Alberghetti workshop is located in the collection of the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.

The Alberghetti family was one of the most important bronze casters in Northern Italy. Various members of the family operated workshops in Ferrara, Florence and Venice. The Venetian workshop was located in the Arsenal, and existed from the 15. to 19. Century
