KINK NECK LUTE TILL KULLA Erlangen, Germany, 1963 8-course lute made of spruce and maple, shell body, hand-carved rosette, 15 strings. L. 69 cm, B. 32,5 cm, scale length 56 cm. Lute label: Till Kulla, 'Berufsfachschule für Musikinstrumentebau Bubereuth Kreis Erlangen, bez. und dat. May 1963', lute case included. The knick-neck lute is a traditional stringed instrument used primarily in the folk music of various cultures. It is distinguished by its characteristic bent neck, which connects the sound body to the pegbox. The lute is played either with the fingers or with a plectrum and is characterized by its unique shape. The history of the bent-neck lute dates back to ancient times in areas from northern Syria to Mesopotamia, where similar instruments already existed. This knick-neck lute built by master luthier Till Kulla was a national winner in a craft competition. Tuning required, very good condition. Literature: Cf. Die Knickhalslaute ist ein traditionelles Saiteninstrument, das vor allem in der Volksmusik verschiedener Kulturen Verwendung findet. Sie zeichnet sich durch ihren charakteristischen geknickten Hals aus, der den Klangkörper mit dem Wirbelkasten verbindet. Die Laute wird entweder mit den Fingern oder mit einem Plektrum gespielt und zeichnet sich durch ihre einzigartige Form aus.Die Geschichte der Knickhalslaute reicht bis in die antike Zeit in den Gebieten von Nordsyrien bis Mesopotamien zurück, wo ähnliche Instrumente bereits existierten. Diese Knickhalslaute erbaut von dem Geigenbaumeister Till Kulla wurde im Handwerkswettbewerb Bundessieger. Stimmung erforderlich, sehr guter Zustand. Literatur: Vgl.
