Fein geschnitzter Elfenbeinkorpus vom Vier-Nagel-Typus, mit kleinen Eisennägeln mit facettierten Köpfen an einem an den Rändern mit Wurzelholz furniertem, rückseitig geschwärztem Kreuz. Auf hohem, mehrfach durch ebonisierte Gesimse und Wurzelholzfurnier verziertem Sockel. Rückseitig Papieretikett mit der Zuschreibung an Ferdinand IV. Höhe 77 cm.

An Italian ivory crucifix, a present from Ferdinand IV, Grand Duke of Tuscany, circa 1700
The finely carved ivory body of four-nail type, affixed to a crucifix by means of small iron nails with faceted heads, the edges of the cross veneered in burl wood, the back blackened. Mounted on a high pedestal, decorated with several ebonised cornices and veneered in burl wood. A paper label on the back, attributing the crucifix to Ferdinand IV. Height 77 cm.
