Ausweis des Durchgangslagers "Tauroggen" vom 31.8.1919 mit Bestätigung der Lagerentlassung und Überweisung an das Bezirks-Kommando Berlin. Bescheinigung des Baltischen Vertrauensrats vom 10.3.1921, Stegmann habe als deutschbaltischer Flüchtling die deutsche Staatsbürgerschaft erworben und sei "von treudeutscher Gesinnung und politisch einwandfreier Zuverlässigkeit". Bescheinigung des Reichswehrministeriums vom 19.10.1921, Stegmann habe "in den Jahren 1906 - 1914 und während des Krieges bis Ende 1917 in Kurland, Estland, Livland und Litauen dem früheren Großen Generalstabe fortlaufend Berichte militärischer, politischer und wirtschaftlicher Natur geliefert", er "erledigte diese schwierigen Arbeiten oft unter persönlicher Gefahr ohne jegliche Vergütung, nur um sein Deutschtum auch mit der Tat zu beweisen.", Original Unterschrift eines Oberstleutnants der Abwehr-Gruppe im Reichswehrministerium. Jeweils gefaltet, fleckig und mit Randschäden.
Kurt Stegmann von Pritzwald, Indogermanist, Linguist und Hochschullehrer, dient nach Ende des 1. Weltkriegs im Freikorps Jena, der Eisernen Division und in der Baltischen Landwehr und wird für die Kämpfe im Baltikum mit dem Baltenkreuz ausgezeichnet. Seit 1933/34 ist er Mitglied der SA, des NS-Lehrer- und Dozentenbunds sowie seit 1937 der NSDAP. Im 2. Weltkrieg wird er als Wehrmachtsdolmetscher einberufen, ist seit 1941 Hochschulreferent im Reichskommissariat Ostland und ab Mitte 1944 Leiter des Sonderreferats Wissenschaft und Kultur im Reichsministerium für die besetzten Ostgebiete. Im Januar 1945 erfolgt seine Ernennung zum außerordentlichen Professor.
