Achtkantiger, in rund übergehender, glatter Lauf im Kaliber 16 mm mit Mittelschiene und Messingkorn. Über der Kammer jagdliche und ornamentale feine Gravur mit Signatur "Frantz Preidenfelter". Figürlich und floral graviertes Steinschloss. Beschnitzter Schaft aus Wurzelnussholz mit geschnittener Eisengarnitur, rankenförmiger, durchbrochen gearbeiteter Schlossgegenplatte und reliefiertem Maskaron auf der Kolbenkappe. Hölzerner Ladestock mit Horndopper. Vorderschaft alt angesetzt, Schloss partiell etwas narbig. Länge 54 cm.
Franz "Breidenfelter" ist 1716 in Wien als Büchsenmacher eingeschrieben und im 2. Viertel des 18. Jhdts. Meister in Karlsbad, vgl. Schedelmann, Die großen Büchsenmacher (1972), S. 231.
Octagonal to round barrel with smooth bore in cal. 16 mm. Center bar, brass front sight. In the breech area ornamental engraving and hunting scenes, with "Frantz Preidenfelter" mark. The engraved flintlock with floral and figural motives. The carved walnut stock with iron furniture, and open worked lock plate and a three-dimensional mascaron on the butt cap. Wooden ramrod with horn tip. The forend with an old repair, the lock with some pitting. Length 54 cm.
Franz "Breidenfelter" registered in 1716 as a gunsmith in Vienna and later, approx. as of 1830, moved on to Karlsbad. See Schedelmann, Die großen Büchsenmacher (1972), p. 231.
