LARGE SILVER COIN CUP.

Lieberkühn d.J., Christian. Berlin.

Date: Dated 1742.
Technique: Silver with partial and inner gilding.
Description: Multi-tiered and indented round base with conical walls. The clamshell lid with a spinning
top-shaped knob. The walls decorated with leaf shells and stylised leaf and flower motifs
on a punched background. In between, 30 framed coins on three registers. On the bottom
row, 10 Danzig three-groschen coins with Sigismund I of Poland, above them 10
three-groschen coins with Sigismund III of Poland and finally 10 Brandenburg-Prussian
three-groschen coins with the profile portrait of Duke Albrecht of Prussia. The lid is
designed accordingly and features 10 Danzig three-groschen coins with Sigismund I of
Poland around the shoulder.
Weight: Ca. 610g.
Measurement: Height 24,5cm.
Mark: Inspection mark Berlin (Scheffler, Berlin Nr. ), assayer's mark, maker's mark Christian Lieberkühn d.J. (from 1733 court goldsmith, ibid. no.566), Prussian tax stamp from 1809.
On the underside owner engraving "IMG AOS 1742".
