Exemplaire sur Auvergne de l’un des plus célèbres livres-objets. Fernand Léger, Pierre Seghers et Paul Éluard se rencontrent dans le cercle artistique et intellectuel de Montparnasse. L’artiste et l’éditeur sont marqués par le décès du poète en 1952 et Pierre Seghers propose de créer un poème-objet afin de lui rendre hommage. Ayant travaillé et écrit des poèmes engagés aux côtés de Paul Éluard avec qui il avait rejoint la Résistance, l’éditeur choisit Liberté, un texte à l’image des convictions qu’ils partageaient. Fernand Léger propose une composition originale qui cite le portrait qu’il a peint du poète en 1947. Ce poème-objet prend ainsi la forme d’un tract militant avec sa police aux accents parfois militaires, tout en intégrant les formes poétiques et abstraites de Léger, créant un livre à l’apparence engagée et surréaliste, à l’image du poète. Grand in-8 (317 x 1270 mm), plié en accordéon. Un des 200 exemplaires sur papier Auvergne des papeteries Richard-de-Bas, celui-ci le n°64. Exemplaire « décoré au pochoir par Albert Jon d’après la composition originale de Fernand Léger », comme tous les exemplaires sur Auvergne (2 plis consolidés au verso au ruban adhésif, 4 petites attaches collées au verso). Conservé sous étui de rhodoïd de l'éditeur avec titre imprimé en blanc (quelques déchirures à l'étui).

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
