First edition of this account of Leguat's voyage from Amsterdam to the Cape including many descriptions of the trees, including the Kasta and ''Pavillon'' trees as well as trees found on Mauritius Island and on the Cape of Good Hope.

2 volumes, 8vo (170 x 97mm). Engraved frontispiece, titles in red and black with woodcut vignette, engraved headpieces and woodcut initials, 31 engraved plates of which 14 folded and a folded table (occasional light soiling). Contemporary speckled calf with gilt spines and red speckled edges, marbled endpapers (light rubbing). Provenance: Giuseppe Orlando (bookplate). (2)
