As a sought-after portraitist of the early 20th century. Century Leopold Schmutzler received numerous orders, which led him to the Bavarian Royal house. Usually, however, there were Actresses, dancers, or 'simple' Malmodelle, which the artist captured in seductive poses on his image-makers. The craft of painting, he had, from 1880, at the Academy of fine arts in Vienna learned, before he moved in 1882 to Munich, and there, under Otto von Seitz at the Academy studied. While he made elegant salon painting slowly a name, helped him to his portraits of beautiful and mostly of lightly clad women, finally a breakthrough.
